This text applies to everyone who installs or uses Skripcy: on the trial, with a pass, or with a gift code. You accept it by pressing I agree and install in the installer. The same text, with the same version and date, appears in the installer, in Skripcy and at skripcy.com/license.
Part A. Important before you use Skripcy
These six points also appear once on Skripcy's first screen.
A1. Skripcy formats; it does not write
Skripcy sets the styles, headings and numbering, lists, figure and table captions, contents and references of the Microsoft Word document you wrote yourself. Skripcy does not write, does not change the meaning of, and does not create your content. Your content, and the final fit with the guideline that applies to your document (for example a campus, journal, publisher, agency, office or client guideline), remain your responsibility. Skripcy does not guarantee that anyone will accept your document.
A2. Keep a backup
Save a copy of your document before using Skripcy and regularly while you work. Most Skripcy commands can be undone with Ctrl+Z in Word, but not all of them, for example commands that save your document or change things outside it.
A3. Check the result
Check your document after each command before saving or submitting it.
A4. Tested configurations
Skripcy is tested on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) with Microsoft 365, Office 2021 and Office 2024. Problems on other configurations, caused by other add-ins, or by copies of Skripcy modified outside an official release are not covered by the support guarantee in Article B10.
A5. Early version
Skripcy is still being developed. Report problems through the contact in Article B14; we fix them as fast as we can.
A6. Online services
The reference features send search words (for example a DOI or a title) straight from your PC to third-party services. Your document's content is never sent for licensing. The details are in the Privacy Policy, Article 4.
Part B. Licence terms
The articles below set out how you may use Skripcy.
B1. The parties and terms used
These terms are an agreement between you and Skripcy (skripcy.com) ("we"); our contact details are in Article B14. If you are under 18, ask your parent or guardian to read and accept them. In this text:
- Account: the email address you sign in to Skripcy with.
- Sign-in code: the 6-digit code we send to that email each time you sign in on a device.
- Device (PC): one computer with one Windows user account.
- Active period: the time your account can use every feature, from the trial, a pass or a gift code.
- Pass: an active period you buy, 1, 3, 6 or 12 months; one month counts as 30 days, and the 12-month pass is a full year (365 days).
- Gift code: a single-use code that adds active time, usually bought by a campus or an office.
B2. Licence, not sale
We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Skripcy during your account's active period. Copyright and all rights in Skripcy remain ours. Skripcy is protected as a computer program under Law No. 28 of 2014 on Copyright.
B3. Account and devices
- One account works on at most 2 devices.
- You can release a device with Release this PC in Skripcy or with Release on the Account page (skripcy.com/account), up to 2 times per 30 days. With none left you can still sign out of Skripcy on that device, but it keeps its place until a release is available again. For a lost or broken device, contact us.
- Skripcy needs the internet to sign in. After that it works until your active period ends, with or without the internet, also if our server cannot be reached. When it is online, Skripcy refreshes its licence by itself once a day.
- Your account is for you only. Do not share access to your account or its sign-in codes, and do not sell it.
- Shared PCs where many people use one Windows account (for example in a lab, internet café or office) are not supported yet.
B4. Trial
Each device and each account gets one free 3-day trial with every feature. The trial starts when you first sign in in Skripcy.
B5. Active period and when it ends
Each pass or gift code adds active time, counted from the end of the current active period or from that day, whichever is later. There is no grace period: when the active period ends, every Skripcy feature button is switched off until time is added again. The Account menu stays usable to sign in, renew, redeem a gift code and release a PC. Your documents are not changed or locked, and they still open and edit in ordinary Microsoft Word on any PC.
B6. Gift codes
A gift code works once and adds active time to the account that uses it. Codes are redeemed with Redeem a code in Skripcy or on the Account page (skripcy.com/redeem), after you sign in with a sign-in code we send to your email. Gift codes cannot be exchanged for money.
B7. What you may not do
You may not: (a) disassemble, decompile or reverse engineer Skripcy, except as far as the law allows; (b) avoid, disable or forge the licence check; (c) copy, rent out or distribute Skripcy, access to an account, or gift codes; (d) use Skripcy to break the law or the rights of others. Breaches may be pursued under Law No. 28 of 2014 on Copyright and other applicable regulations.
B8. Your documents and content
Your documents remain yours. Skripcy processes documents on your PC; their content is not sent to us (Privacy Policy Article 2).
B9. Updates
We may release updates to fix problems or add features. Some updates may be needed to keep Skripcy working and secure.
B10. Support guarantee and liability
We work to make Skripcy function as described on skripcy.com. If Skripcy does not work as described because of a fault in Skripcy, contact us and we will fix it; for purchases, Article 7 of the Terms of Purchase also applies. We are not responsible for losses proven to be caused by your own fault, including not keeping a backup (Article A2), using an unsupported configuration (Article A4), or using a modified copy of Skripcy.
B11. Termination
We may deactivate an account or gift code used in breach of Article B3 or B7, after telling you by the account's email. Deactivation takes effect when Skripcy next connects to the internet.
B12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. Important changes are announced in Skripcy and on skripcy.com at least 14 days before they take effect, under a new version number. The installer, Skripcy and the website always show the same version.
B13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Indonesia. Disputes are first settled by discussion through the contact in Article B14. If no agreement is reached, you may take the matter to the Consumer Dispute Settlement Body (BPSK) or a competent court. These terms, Part A included, do not reduce your rights as a consumer under the applicable laws and regulations.
